Klopp criticizes the referee again – referees reject

Jürgen Klopp was probably furious with referee Paul Tierney, even though Liverpool picked up a 4-3 victory against Tottenham at the last minute. He criticizes the Premier League referee for not ‘liking’ Liverpool.

– I don’t know what he has against us!

After Sunday’s 4-3 win against Tottenham Hotspur, Jürgen Klopp was frustrated that referee Paul Tierney awarded a thin free kick shortly before Tottenham’s equalizing goal to make it 3-3.

And just as much the judge’s ability to accept criticism.

Diogo Jota scored to make it 4-3 at half-time after Richarlison’s 3-3 goal, but Klopp ran down to the fourth official and shouted upstairs, for which he collected a yellow card.

– We have our history with Tierney, I really don’t know what he has against us, Klopp told Sky Sports after the match

– He has said that there are no problems, but that cannot be true. The way he looks at me – I don’t understand. In England no one needs to clarify these situations, it’s really hard to understand. “What he said to me when he gave me the yellow card is not right,” said Klopp.

The Premier League referees are controlled via PGMOL, which is the body that handles all match fixing and evaluations, and here they reject all accusations from the Liverpool manager.

– Match managers in the Premier League are registered in all matches via a communication system. After reviewing the audio of referee Paul Tierney from today’s game, we can confirm that he acted in a professional manner throughout, including issuing the warning to the Liverpool manager. Therefore, we strongly reject that Tierney’s actions were inappropriate, says PGMOL.
